This mere fact makes American women the largest economy in the world, eclipsing the entire Japanese economy. Women in the United States currently control 51% of the private wealth, and this number is expected to rise simply due to demographics. You may also be surprised to learn what else ladies are up to. Women make 94% of home furnishings purchases, 92% of vacations, 70% of adventure travel vacations. They spend $55 billion on travel equipment, purchase 91% of houses, 80% of home improvement projects, 68% of cars, and 51% of consumer electronics. As far as home computers are concerned, women purchase 66% of those. Women also rule the roost in the financial world by opening 89% of bank accounts in the United States. Sixty-seven percent of household investment decisions are made by women. Seventy percent of small business loans and start-ups are promulgated by women. To whom is your marketing directed ? Due to this economic phenomenon, focusing your care, your practice, your techniques and your marketing toward women simply makes sense. Since you now know that women make a majority of the financial decisions in America, you need to know why you should focus your efforts on this group. Currently US women make 80% of all healthcare decisions. This means that only 2 men in 10 decide which doctor to see. The Pareto Principle outlines the 80-20 rule and could be used here.
